Summer Cocktails that are BIG on Taste and Light on Everything Else!

For a lot of us, summertime means socializing and well socializing can mean a lot of cocktails. Even for those of us working hard to stay in tip top shape, knowing what to drink and what not to drink can be a minefield. To help you stay healthy and still be able to kick back a couple of summer drinks with friends, we collected a few recipes around the web that let you enjoy the best of both worlds.

The Skimlet
Compliments of Hollywood hot spot Lexington Social House, The Skimlet is comprised of Voli Lyte Vodka, pineapple juice, lime juice, agave nectar and fresh tarragon.

If you happen to be out and about and not able to make these cocktails on your own, here are some tips and tricks to not overdue it in the calorie area while sipping away your summer.
  • After choosing your liquor, stick to water or soda as your mixer
  • Red and white wine, in reasonable portions is a great way to stay lean and also get some health benefits
  • Light beer. We all like a great beer every now and then, but remember beer, especially some of the new craft beers can pack quite a caloric punch
